Simple Fung Shui For The Bedroom

Learning fung shui can be a difficult task. It is an ancient system, rich with history and complex philosophies, and there are many schools with different techniques. However, if you want to use a few simple principles to improve the flow of energy, here are a few tips you can use for your bedroom.

Position the Bed – It is not good to have a bed placed below a window. A solid wall is ideal, but if the window position is unavoidable, invest in a headboard and heavy curtains. These items can provide a certain amount of support and protection. Also keep in mind that the chosen wall should not have a toilet or electronics on the other side.

Move the Work and Exercise – Get rid of exercise equipment and desks intended for work or study. The bedroom should be a place of relaxation and pleasure. When you exercise or work in your bedroom, you bring that energy into the room with you. Considering that the bedroom is often where romance happens, it’s not in your best interest to bring items that represent hard work.

Decorate in Pairs – There should be one night stand on either side of the bed. Two paintings should be used instead of one. This is good for two people who are already together, but it’s an especially good tip to use if you are a single person that wants a relationship. To draw love into your life, you must make space for someone to be there. If your closet is stuffed full, clear it out so that someone else might be able to share. Clear off your second night stand so that a partner might be able to use it if they were there.

Mirrors In the Bedroom – It is easy for a fung shui beginner to make mistakes with mirrors. They have a very strong effect on the energy around them. Never place one opposite a doorway, good energy will be reflected back out of the room. You also want to avoid seeing your reflection while in bed, particularly your face. Some say that the spirit leaves the body when you sleep. A spirit that sees itself will be scared back into your body, making sleep difficult.

Clear the Clutter – Dirt and clutter give off their own energy, it is stale and unhealthy. The longer you let it sit or grow, the stronger that energy gets. Clutter is also capable of blocking or slowing down good energy flow. Your home doesn’t have to be pristine. A regular routine of cleanliness is all that’s required.

These are just five ways to improve the fung shui of your bedroom on your own. These are general tips that anyone can apply, but remember that everyone’s home is different. What someone else does in their home, may not be the best for yours. Whether online or in person, consult a professional.
